New Music: Dark Lo x Harry Fraud Feat. AR-Ab “Vultures”
‘Borrowed Time’ Is Produced Entirely By Harry Fraud And Will Be Released On 5-21-21
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dark Lo is best known for bringing his signature gritty delivery and street bars over smooth, soulful production. Also known as “The Crook”, Dark Lo spent the majority of his young adult life in and out of prison.
It wasn’t until Lo met AR-Ab that he turned his attention to hip hop. Despite always having a passion for music, AR-Ab convinced Lo of his talent and he decided to take his craft to the next level. Over the years, Dark Lo has proceeded to release several acclaimed projects and was named one of Complex’s ‘Underground Rappers You Should Know’.
Currently, Dark Lo and AR-Ab are embroiled in two high-profile cases, with Dark Lo awaiting sentencing, and AR-Ab currently incarcerated after he was arraigned with eight other individuals in October, 2018 on trafficking and distribution charges in Philadelphia. While AR remains in Federal custody pending trail, the Government put their case together, and one of the indicted individuals agreed to flip and testify against AR.
During this period of time, Dark Lo learned that the individual who agreed to testify against AR was a mutual friend. Lo penned a letter to that individual regarding his decision to testify against AR. As AR’s federal trial began, on 11-7-19, Lo attended court to support his friend. Once there, prosecutors informed authorities that Lo’s presence in the courtroom was making the Government informant uncomfortable, and he was subsequently removed from the courtroom. Later that evening, Federal authorities went to Dark Lo’s residence with a warrant for his arrest on Federal counts of “witness tampering” in relation to AR-Ab’s case where Lo was arrested and removed from his residence. While conducting a search warrant, Federal authorities located an unregistered/illegal firearm.
On 12-1-20, Dark Lo was transferred from a federal jail to a hospital to receive treatment for COVID-19 related health issues. He was subsequently released by a Federal judge from the hospital on 12-14-20, and remanded to house arrest pending his trial; with stipulations that he was only permitted to be outside of his home for one hour every day. In March of this year, Dark Lo entered a guilty plea to witness tampering in exchange for the dismissal of charges for the unregistered/illegal firearm charge; and under the grounds that he remains on house arrest until his sentencing.
On 4-16-21, authorities sentenced AR-Ab to 45-years in Federal prison. Dark Lo’s sentencing hearing before a federal judge is scheduled for 8-6-21, and until such time he remains on house arrest.
Today, Dark Lo announced his new project, Borrowed Time, a collaborative project which is completely produced by Harry Fraud (who is coming off of his critically acclaimed project with Benny The Butcher The Plugs I Met 2).
Complex was granted an exclusive interview with Dark Lo and also premiered the project’s first single, “Vultures,” which features AR-Ab.
Dark Lo x Harry Fraud’s Borrowed Time will be released on 5-21-21.
