The “Still Shining” documentary was created in 2006 as a remembrance to the memory of the late/great James Dewitt Yancey aka Jay Dee aka J Dilla.
The film captures Dilla’s loved ones talking about his creative process, beyond his influences, his personal side and more. The film features interviews with Ma Dukes (Dilla’s mom), Pete Rock, Common, Q Tip, Erykah Badu, Bilal, HouseShoes, Moni Love, Questlove and more.
The documentary was directed by Brian “B.Kyle” Atkins for Gifted Films Inc.
