4 People Shot Outside T.I’s Trap Museum

Chaos reportedly erupted outside of T.I’s Trap Museum in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday (May 16). According to Fox 5 News, police arrived on the scene around 3:40 a.m. local time and discovered three male victims with gunshot wounds.

All three men were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where police learned a fourth victim, a woman, had also been shot at the same location but privately driven to the hospital. Uber driver Clint Rauscher was picking someone up when the incident occurred and his dash cam video captured it all.

“I heard some pops in the distance in the front and then I see everyone is running towards me. A couple of young girls dove behind a car and beside a car,” Rauscher said. “I wasn’t concerned too much getting shot I was more concerned about the people in front of me that were running away from it that they might get shot.”

A preliminary investigation discovered the four victims were walking to their respective cars when at least one suspect driving a black Dodge Charger with red stripes began shooting at them for reasons still unknown.

“You begin to ask yourself when is it going to end,” City Councilman Antonio Brown. “It’s terrifying you have to be concerned about going to the gas station and leaving your keys in the car or leaving the car unlocked. We can’t continue to look at gangs as adversaries in the city. We have to sit down and have conversations with these gang leaders to understand what needs to happen to reduce gun violence in our communities.”

T.I. opened the Trap Museum in October 2018, which has become one of Atlanta’s high volume, cutting-edge tourist attractions. Tip is presumably frustrated by the latest wave of gun violence. Shortly after King Von was murdered outside of an Atlanta hookah bar last November, he issued a Public Service Announcement via Instagram, imploring people to stop coming to his city to kill each other.

“Atlanta is a beautiful city filled with black excellence,” he wrote at the time. “We uplift each other & win together. Stop coming here to kill each other. That shit is played out. Management.”

Although well-intentioned, Tip’s post was met with plenty of backlash. Many assumed the Hustle Gang boss was referencing the death of King Von and felt it was ill-timed.

“I don’t speak on my allies,” T.I. wrote in his defense. “My last post had nothing to do with King Von. Y’all grossly mistaken, I have no motive or intention to do harm or malice to cats I’m cool wit. My family’s heart goes out to them & I’ve expressed this to people in his life that matter most in this situation. That’s all I’m concerned with.”

T.I. has yet to publicly address the shooting. Police are continuing to investigate.
