Omniscence compares “Rap Vs. Crack” in never before heard single

Below System Records has unearthed another previously unreleased single from North Carolina rhyme-vet Omniscence this morning. “Rap Vs Crack” is another gem of east coast boom-bap goodness from the mid 90’s produced by Fanatic (Notorious B.I.G., Lil Kim).

It was recorded around the same time-period as what was to be his major label debut album, The Raw Factor.

“Rap Vs Crack” will appear as one of four unreleased bonus tracks on Below System’s release of The Raw Factor (with CD’s and digital version dropping on 5/24 and 2xLP version dropping a little later).

Another of these singles “Stage Presence” was also recently released (link below) and features an appearance from fellow NC spitter Toz Torcha (then of local crew The Vandalz).

Though releasing two singles from the album (earning him a hip-hop quotable in The Source Magazine) Label politics caused The Raw Factor to be shelved. This prompted the emcee to take a break from the game (a break which lasted decades). With the release of “Stage Presence” Below System Records is announcing the DSP release of The Raw Factor this spring (with additional unreleased tracks from the same period) as well as its first ever vinyl (2xLP to be exact) edition to drop this summer.
