Great Neck, NY wordsmith AWOL Da Mindwriter returns with “Altered Beast.” New single (with video version directed by Jack De$a) was produced by August Fanon (Mach Hommy, Vic Spencer) and is from their forthcoming collaborative LP, Now Loading.
According to the emcee the track is “dealing with negative societal forces in many of our lives including greed and arrogance. The frustration of encountering those forces every day is a trigger; it’s like turning me into an altered beast.” AWOL, a huge gamer (especially passionate about the SEGA games of his formative years) often works in titles and concepts inspired from those games (hence Altered Beast).
