Wildcard sets the stage for his recently released album, Western Promises, with this cinematic new video for the title track that’s as raw as the music itself.
The video, which is shot by Gnarlos Wright and directed by Wildcard himself, digs up the tension as the West Coast emcee builds out the story with his rhymes. Armed with a rapid-fire flow steeped in rich lyricism, the West Coast emcee brings the mob-based narrative to life as he spends time with a kingpin, his favorite girl, and the realities of his choices.
It’s a fitting visual representation of both the song and the entire album, which is a thrilling look at the world through Wildcard’s artistic lens. He built a name for himself with that aforementioned flow and approach to lyricism, and he’s only getting better with every release.
