Grand Official return with Supreme LP ft. M.O.P., KRS-One, Cappadonna & more!

Los Angeles hip-hop collective Grand Official come Supreme! New LP Supreme (out now) is as the crew says “putting their best foot forward with the beats, cuts and rhymes.”  They make a good case for this status with singles including the title track, which features Lil Fame and Teflon from the mighty M.O.P and “Kings” Produced by Boot Camp Clik’s own Da Beatminerz (and features Jay R on the hook).

Composed of emcee Dose, turntablist DJ HALLUCIN8 and producer-at-large Grip Grand Official reps golden-age boom-bap in their sound to the fullest. An aesthetic they share with close homies/neighboring crew Reagan Era Records (whose members guest on several of the album’s tracks).  Additional heavyweight guests on Supreme include Blast-Master KRS-One on “Respect” (video link below) as well as M.O.P proper, CappadonnaRas Kass and DJ Skizz.

While a few of the tracks were leaked previously as singles, Grip revealed that “we made a lot of songs that eventually we scrapped from the album and decided to just keep working until we honed in on the sound we were going for.  That’s why it was several years in-between our last singles and the LP.”

Grand Official formed in 2003, though all the members actually met in the mid 90’s while growing up in Pico Rivera, California.
