M-Dot & Pete Rock “The Atonement” gets the visual treatment in this gritty New Video

As M-Dot prepares to embark on yet another European tour, he delivers a monster visual produced by legendary producer Pete Rock, whom he met back in 2017 while on the same show in Switzerland. As the story goes, the two showed mutual admiration for their music, keeping in touch and eventually leading to their first collaboration “The Atonement.” The single, a semi-automatic barrage of bars, demonstrates M-Dot flexing crazy patterns and internal rhymes atop Pete’s fittingly chilling instrumental, garnered heavy accolades landing on several “song of the year” lists when it dropped. Since its release, the song (and M-Dot’s vocals) went on to be sampled by DJ Premier on Logic‘s Def Jam/Universal release “Vinyl Days.” Fast forward to the present and the gritty soundscape gets the visual treatment with a haunting, film noir black and white video directed by Rayymond, adding the perfect contextual layer to this moody anthem.

In addition to Pete Rock, “egO anD The eneMy 2: A Dissolute Paradise” boasts production and guest appearances from the likes of Erick Sermon, Apollo Brown, !llmind, Black Milk, G-Koop, Willie The Kid, Vast Aire and more. The Limited Collector’s Edition Splash Vinyl is available now via M-Dot’s Bandcamp.
