Scott Storch – Top 10 Beats

Here at BeatGrade we decided to do our own Top Ten series of great producers. This feature is the Legendary and some say Underrated Scott Storch. He has produced some of the Best beats of all time. This selection of beats we chose are not only some of our favorites, but the most influential beats we feel Scott Storch has produced. This was also not based on what were his Big successes more so his beats. Storch began his professional music career in 1991, when he became one of the first members of the hip hop group The Roots as a keyboard player. He was heavily involved in the following two albums released by The Roots: Organix and Do You Want More?!!!??! and had involvement in Illadelph Halflife. Storch, however, had a distaste towards touring and preferred creating in the studio and decided upon becoming a music producer in his own right. Storch’s first two commercial hits were from the production on the track “You Got Me” by The Roots ft. Erykah Badu and Eve and his collaboration with Dr. Dre for the song “Still D.R.E.” including the characteristic piano. Storch’s most successful solo production hit was “Lean Back”, a 2004 single by Terror Squad. He was one of the top producers in the business, having worked on hits by 50 Cent, The Game, T.I., Chris Brown, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Dr. Dre, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Pink, Lil’ Kim and many others. Storch was also awarded ASCAP’s Songwriter of the Year award in 2006. ***If there’s a producer who’s beats you feel we should list, please say their names in the comments below!
