Chicago Artist Taylor Bennett x DJ Pharris Drop “TBE (The Best Ever)”

Taylor Bennett maintains a demanding lifestyle, balancing the chaos of the music industry with a disciplined commitment to fitness and mental clarity. Working out six to seven days a week, he treats exercise as both a physical outlet and a grounding routine. Whether he’s running through the city or staying consistent in the gym, fitness helps him stay centered while managing his responsibilities as a manager representing artists like Chance the Rapper, Adamn Killa, and Lil Mu. Inspired by legendary figures such as Berry Gordy, Clarence Avon, and Michael Jackson. Taylor approaches both business and personal growth with intention, using structure and movement to navigate an otherwise unpredictable industry.

That same sense of evolution carries into his creative work. With his upcoming album Time After Youth (T.A.Y) releasing May 8th, Taylor reflects on growth, vulnerability, and the ongoing process of becoming. The project captures a more mature perspective, both emotionally and artistically. His personal style has also evolved—he’ s embracing suits more frequently, signaling a shift in identity and confidence. His favorite color, turquoise, symbolizes movement, water, and earth, mirroring the fluidity and grounding forces he channels in his life and work. Alongside the album, he’ s preparing to launch a new clothing brand, expanding his vision as an independent record label executive under Tay Bennett Entertainment (TBE).

TBE itself represents a significant journey of growth and independence. Building his own platform has given Taylor the ability to operate on his own terms, reinforcing the importance of ownership within the music industry. He emphasizes Black music ownership as a critical step toward long-term empowerment, pointing to the many artists whose work was historically mishandled or undervalued. For Taylor, knowledge of ownership and financial literacy is key— not just for individual success, but for building generational wealth. When artists retain control of their music and business, they create opportunities that extend beyond themselves, allowing wealth and knowledge to be passed down, strengthening future generations. – Mckayla (T.B.E)
