For this B&B we changed it up. Conway is one of the best / realest MC’s in the world currently, certainly a personal favorite. He wanted to do a Freestyle rather than a particular record how we usually do so I suggested what I call “NY Presidents.”
Me and Carlos Homs (Piano) have been doing this New York State of Mind / Dead Presidents mashup for years. We mix the 2 classics and it can go anywhere. HUGE shoutout to the original producers of these classics DJ Premier (NY State of Mind – Nas) & Ski Beatz (Dead Presidents – Jay-Z). I’ve worked extensively with both of these legends and consider them mentors and family for life.
