Story Still Developing

It is with complete shock and sadness that we must report today that David Jude Jolicoeur, better known as “The Dove” or “TrugoyThe Dove” or simply “Trugoy” has passed away from unknown circumstances at the age of 54.

Dave, a monster fan of yogurt, decided to give himself the moniker ”Trugoy” because it spelled yogurt backwards. Said Dove, “I enjoyed eating yogurt. I mean, I eat it a lot.”

Dave was a founding member of the rap trio “De La Soul” along with Kelvin Mercer AKA “Posdnous” and Vincent Mason AKA “DJ Maseo.” The three were childhood friends who came up together in East Massapequa, NY and further helped to cement Long Island’s presence on the map in terms of the rap game.

Along with the production of, “Prince PaulHouston from the rap group Stetsasonic, the three friends grabbed a deal with Tommy Boy Records and catapulted into the rap super stardom stratosphere, never to look back.

It was known that Dave was suffering from Congestive Heart Failure, a chronic condition in which the heart doesn’t pump blood as well as it ought to. Trugoy went on Instagram in 2018 and announced that he was battling with the disease and basically voiced his frustration about not being able to jump back on the stage the way he may have wanted to.

The condition forces the patient to slow down in ways that can be down right depressing at times, especially, for anyone who is used to a higher octane life. However, no official causes have been released at the time of this article.

Job Very Well Done Sir.
