RED BULL BATALLA, THE WORLD’S LARGEST SPANISH-LANGUAGE FREESTYLE COMPETITION, IS BACK WITH APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2024 SEASON
February 19, 2024 (Santa Monica, CA) – Fresh off a thrilling 2023 edition, Red Bull Batalla is back in action with applications open globally for the 2024 season. Now through March 21st, MCs can show off their best rap skills and apply for a chance to compete alongside the best in the country and if they’re lucky, the world.
MCs from over 18 countries including the U.S., Mexico, Spain, Central America, and for the first time, South America, will participate in Red Bull Batalla this year. Those interested in applying can upload their submission video directly through the new Red Bull Batalla app (in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store). Connect with a global freestyle community, flex those bars and record videos using new features like beat mixing, improved audition flow and premium user profiles.
Video submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges made up of industry experts and seasoned freestyle MCs from across the Spanish-speaking music landscape. For MCs that make the cut, it’s game on with bracket-style one-on-one freestyle battles to show off the best rhymes, powerful punchlines, and quick wit in hopes of advancing in the competition.
After two Qualifier events in the U.S. this summer, all eyes turn to the Red Bull Batalla U.S. National Final which returns this October to Miami, Florida, the epicenter of Spanish-language freestyle in the country. Only one MC will claim the title of U.S. Champion and earn the right to represent the country in Madrid, Spain for the Red Bull Batalla International Final. Spanish MC and 2023 champion Chuty set the bar high in Bogotá, Colombia last December but can a new MC take the coveted championship belt this year?

Last year marked the first time that two national champions, Oner and Reverse, represented the U.S. at an International Final and more surprises are certainly in store as the competition enters its sixth season stateside.

ABOUT RED BULL BATALLA
Red Bull Batalla is a global freestyle rap competition that, since 2005, has provided a platform for the best hip hop improvisors in the Spanish-speaking world to connect, develop and compete. Within the last few years, the Red Bull founded project has become the world’s biggest international freestyle battle competition, uniting Spanish speaking Latin America and Spain. The roots of this improvised rap scene are as deeply connected to hip hop as they are to the improvisation styles of traditional folk troubadours.
